SWCD announced scholarship winner

The Jones Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has announced that Rebecca Trumm is this year’s recipient of its $400 scholarship.

The Jones SWCD accepted scholarship applications from Jones County high school seniors pursuing programs of study in agriculture or natural resources. Selection is made based on demonstrated leadership and academic achievement. Applicants are also required to write a 400- to 600-word essay on what soil and water conservation means to them.

Trumm is a senior at Cascade High School. This August, she plans to begin studying Ag Business at Iowa State University. The scholarship is made possible by generous donors supporting the Jones SWCD’s Endowment Fund, which is managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. Rebecca is the daughter of Joe and Sara Trumm of Cascade.
