Terri Smith March 26, 1958-Dec. 30, 2016

     Terri Ellison Smith, age 58, of Tipton, formerly of Anamosa and Monticello, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa following an extended illness.

     Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, Jan. 4, 2017 at the Peace United Church of Christ, Monticello. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. Pastor Mike Cleeton will officiate at the services.      Surviving is her husband Wes Smith of Tipton; two sons, Adam Bodkin, Olin, Danny Bodkin, Monticello; three grandchildren, Heath, Isiah and Navae Bodkin; her parents, Dick and Suzie Ellison, Monticello; a brother, Tony (Tammy Reynolds) Monticello; her mother-in-law, Charlotte Smith, Tipton. She was preceded in death by her brother Jody and her father-in-law George Smith.

     Terri Ellison was born March 26, 1958 at Iowa City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Richard and Susanna Halser, Ellison. Terri was a 1977 graduate of the Anamosa Community Schools. Terri married Barry Bodkin on April 15, 1978. The couple lived in Hawaii while Barry was in service. They later divorced. Terri married Wes Smith Sept. 9, 1997 at Iowa City, Iowa. Terri had worked at Lewis Systems in Monticello and at Sheller Globe in Iowa City. 

     Terri was an excellent seamstress. She also crocheted many afghans and shawls that she donated to Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
