Thanks to locals and officials who assisted at accident scene

To the Editor,

     I would like to start by thanking Penny Schoon and her neighbor for being first on the scene and never leaving Chelcee’s side, as well as the Monticello Fire Department, Monticello Ambulance/EMT, and the Jones County Sheriff’s Office. Our girl was never alone.

     Chelcee was a beautiful, vibrant young lady. To know her was to love her. Her personality was sooooo beautiful. Chelcee was not only a loving mother, she was a thoughtful daughter, sister, and best friend to my baby.

     Monticello Express, how dare you, shame on your heartless, nearly one-quarter-page picture of our beautiful angel in distress. We haven’t even been able to notify all of her family yet. I am angered and so very hurt by that photo in your paper. I know there is not a lot of news in Monticello, but this is not the kind of news that needs pictures.
