Toomer sentenced to four years in prison

On May 24, Arnold Toomer was formally sentenced to two indeterminate terms not to exceed two years in prison, on two separate counts of invasion of privacy, related to intimate video recordings made by him, without the knowledge or consent of the victim.

The two sentences will be run consecutive to one another, and Toomer will remain in custody until transferred to the Department of Corrections.

Toomer remains a registrant on the Iowa Sex Offender registry for at least 10 years and possibly for the remainder of his life, and will also be required to serve a special sentence of parole with the Director of the Department of Corrections for 10 years.

These cases were investigated by the Office of the Jones County Sheriff.

Jones County Attorney Kristofer Lyons handled the successful prosecution on behalf of the State of Iowa.
