Tree board offers sale on trees

     The Monticello Tree Board still has trees for sale until they are sold out.

     Forms to purchase trees can be picked up and filled out at the City Clerk’s Office in City Hall during normal business hours. You can pay for your tree order by cash or check. There is also information on each tree available. All trees purchased must be planted within city limits.

     Trees will be available by Saturday, April 28.

     Tree choices for sale include:

     • Crabapple (Malus X Cardinal), 15 feet in height, 25-foot spread, $30

     • River Birch (Betula nigra), 45 feet in height, 30-foot spread, $30

     • Hornbeam (Carpinus betula fastigiata) 40 feet in height, 30-foot spread, $30

     • Redbud (Cercis canadiensis) 25 feet in height, 25-foot spread, $20

     • Beech (Fagus sylvaticus) 25 feet in height, 20-foot spread, $30

     • Blackgum (Nyssa silvatica) 50 feet in height, 30-foot spread, $30

     • Pin Oak (Quercus palustris) 60 feet in height, 40-foot spread, $30

     • Black Hills Spruce (Picea glauca var. dens) 60 feet in height, 25-foot spread, $40
