Veterans circe 1979

This photo, which appeared in the May 23, 1979 Monticello Express was recently brought to our attention by a local veteran. Veterans of four wars gather in Oakwood Cemetery as a reminder of Poppy Day, which was sponsored annually by the American Legion Auxiliary prior to Memorial Day. The veterans pictured were all members of the American Legion. From left are Mike Lambert, Vietnam and past commander of the Monticello Legion post; Ray Rieniets, Korean, and past vice commander; Rudy Bossard, World War II and past post commander; and Dr. Earl H.
