Veterans invited to MHS for Veterans Day assembly

     Monticello High School will be honoring Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11.

   All veterans are invited to MHS for breakfast and an assembly.

   Breakfast will be served from 7 to 8 a.m. in the Family Consumer Science Room. Veterans are encouraged to park in the back of the school by the greenhouse. National Honor Society students will be at the entrances to help direct veterans to the room.

   At 8:20 a.m., MHS students will sing the National Anthem. Guest speaker Doug Bean will then address the students, staff, and veterans. Bean works at the VA hospital in Iowa City helping veterans with PTSD. MHS students will close-out the assembly by playing “Taps.”
