Weber named COO of Polo Custom Products

     Topeka, Kan., based Polo Custom Products has named Brian Weber as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In addition to 33 full-time associates at its headquarters in Topeka, Polo Custom Products employs nearly 400 at its manufacturing facilities in Monticello, Iowa, and Louisville, Miss. The custom manufacturing company also has affiliated manufacturing facilities in Puerto Rico, China, Dominican Republic, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

     Weber is taking the COO position at the innovative design and global manufacturing firm after a long career with the company. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa and served as VP of Product Development/Global Supply Chain and SVP of Global Manufacturing before being named to his new position as COO. He was previously named as one of the Eastern Iowa Corridor’s “Forty Under 40,” an award that recognizes leaders who have made a significant impact in their business and community early in their career.

     Founded in 1947 as Polo Plastics, contract manufacturer Polo Custom Products today designs and manufactures custom components for original equipment manufacturers in the medical, fire and safety, industrial, and government/defense markets. Polo Custom Products specializes in custom industrial sewing, heat sealing and thermoforming flexible, pliable materials, fabrics and films. Its customers include industry leaders and government agencies seeking innovative high-quality custom manufacturing solutions.

     Weber resides in Iowa with his wife and two children. He routinely travels between all of Polo’s domestic and overseas manufacturing facilities, but keeps his office at Polo’s manufacturing plant in Monticello. In addition to his leadership role at Polo Custom Products, Weber holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, is an alumnus of the U.S. Army War College National Security Seminar, and is a named inventor on five U.S. patents.

     Outside of work, Weber actively volunteers his time in the community and has served as a Junior Achievement teacher, STEM advisor, Invention Convention judge, coach for Metro Youth Football, guest speaker for Workplace Learning Connection, and previously served as board president for the Jones County Economic Development Commission.

     In his free time, Weber enjoys golf, flying, hunting, off-road motorcycle riding, competitive pistol shooting, and SCUBA diving.
