Wyoming fair to feature tractor pull, music, entertainment

The 91st Wyoming Fair kicks off this week and goes through the weekend.
Festivities kick off Friday, July 11 with the parade at 6:30 p.m. featuring grand marshal Jim Eichhorn and his family as well as the king and queen candidates.
A 4x4 and 4x2 ATV pull will begin around 6 p.m. and take place during the parade.
After the parade, a slate of events will begin, including:
• Crowning of the 2025 fair king & queen
• Kids’ pedal pull with $15 in prize money per class
• Kids’ games, including inflatables
• A kids’ drawing for 10 $10 bills
• Calf roping and team roping in the horse arena
• A petting zoo hosted by Midland FFA
• Balloon animals
Entry to the fairgrounds on Friday is free.
Live music will close out Friday’s festivities when The Dirt Road Rockers hit the stage at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, events kick off with breakfast by WICKS pizza from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Livestock weigh-ins start at 7 a.m. Friday and horse show timed events commence at 9 a.m.
Inflatables for kids open at 10 a.m., as does the 37th annual goat and sheep show. The 72nd annual steer and heifer show begins at 11 a.m., and a watermelon feed follows the beef show.
The day will be capped by a 6:30 p.m. truck and tractor pull with two skids featuring two East Central Iowa classes.
Admission on Saturday is $5 per person until noon, when the price jumps to $10 per person. Entry for kids 11 and under is free for the duration of the fair.
Sunday begins with breakfast again from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The “come and go” car show will start at 10 a.m. and go until 3 p.m.
A barbecue smoker competition begins at 8 a.m. with samples served from 1-3 p.m. and results of the judging announced afterward.
The open and youth rabbit show begins at 8:30 a.m. Sunday with the 91st annual horse show slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. The bucket/bottle calf show will begin at 10 a.m. Both the youth poultry and dog show begin at 1 p.m.
A bubble soccer tournament presented by Knockerball 118 is on tap for 1:30 p.m.
Admission on Sunday is $5 each all day.
Food vendors at the fair include the Wyoming Fair Association, Wyoming Lyons Club, Wyoming Betterment, Big Rick’s, SPARKS Wyoming Pioneers 4-H and WICKS Pizza.
