Yo-Ho tour

Jones County Economic Development and Sedona Staffing Services partnered last week on March 22 for tours of Yeoman & Company in Monticello. Yeoman & Company has provided tools for farmers, contractors, landscapers, florists and homeowners for more than 85 years. Dan Jacobsen, director of sales at Yeoman & Company, provided the tours. He said they ship products coast to coast. Due to the mild winter in the Midwest this year, Jacobsen said sales were down. Twelve years ago, Yeoman & Company added 30,000 square feet onto its facility in Monticello. It’s mainly used for storage. In terms of history of the company, in the mid-1970s, they were the first manufacturer to use the power coating process west of the Mississippi River. Yeoman & Company employs 25-30 employees.
