Late in the afternoon on Friday, March 20, the Zac Brown Band announced the cancellation of the rest of their 2020 “Roar with the Lions” tour due to the spread and uncertainty of coronavirus (COVID-19). This tour included their Saturday, July 25 performance that was scheduled at the Great Jones County Fair.

A couple of weeks ago, Zac Brown Band announced they were postponing their spring tour, also due to coronavirus.

“We are deeply disappointed this has happened; touring is our lifeblood and performing live for our fans is the best part of this job,” Zac Brown released in a statement on their website. “Bottom line though, we want to take every precaution to put the health and safety of our fans and crew first.”

John Harms, GJCF manager, said that anyone who purchase tickets for the Zac Brown Band show at the fair will be refunded “within the next few business days.

“Future plans include rescheduling the show in 2021, if possible,” Harms eluded to. “Watch for details at a later date.”

Harms said the fair understands the decision to cancel. He said they are looking at filling the July 25 date with another entertainer.

“In the meantime,” Harms concluded, “stay safe and stay healthy.”

The fair still has two additional country shows scheduled for 2020: Dan + Shay on Thursday, July 23, and Alan Jackson on Friday, July 24.

Tickets for those shows can be purchase at www.greatjonescountyfair.com.
