Dr. Suren Seth

Sept. 18, 1944 – Sept. 26, 2012

Dr. Suren Seth age 68, died Wednesday Sept. 26, 2012 at his home following a sudden illness.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where friends called after 11 a.m.  Rev. Ed Moreano officiated at the services. 

Suren Kumar Seth was born Sept. 18, 1944 in Nairobi, Kenya.  He was the son of Anand and Susheila Vati, Seth.  He received his primary education in Nairobi and then continued his education in France where he attended medical school.  He retuned to Kenya where he completed his OBGYN specialty.   Suren completed his Family Practice residency at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Ill.  He worked as a family practice physician in Clinton, Iowa, Peoria, Ill. and Hampton, Iowa before moving to Monticello in 1991.  He operated Monticello Family Practice until he retired in 2003.  Suren then worked as a rotation doctor at the Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant Hospitals for several years. 

Suren had been a member of the Monticello Rotary Club, the Doubling Dozens Bridge Club and the Monticello Golf Club.

Surviving are two children, Ryan of Cedar Rapids and Alexis of Manchester, four sisters and two brothers.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
