Robert Mohr, age 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 in the Hopkinton Cemetery, with military honors.
Robert J. Mohr was born Oct. 16, 1931 in Buck Creek, in Delaware County, Iowa. He was the son of Hans and Christina Martensen, Mohr. Bob graduated from the Hopkinton High School in 1949. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Robert J. Mohr and Irma Dolores Bartels were married Jan. 3, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hopkinton. Bob was a crew foreman for the Anamosa Silo Company for many years. He worked for Swiss Valley Ag service, driving a semi for 17 years before he retired. In retirement, he became an avid gardener and sold his produce at the area farmers markets.
Surviving is his wife, Dolores; two sons, Landis Mohr and girlfriend, Amy, and Rob (Luisa) Wertz, both of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty DeShaw, Hopkinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Donald; and two sisters, Delores DeShaw and Cecelia Smith.
Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello is in charge of the services.
