Blake resigns as head football coach

Shane Blake has resigned as head varsity football coach at Monticello High School, effective at the end of this season.

Blake will coach the Panthers’ final game Friday, Oct. 19 at home against Northeast of Goose Lake. He will also remain a social studies and P.E. teacher at MHS.

His resignation was approved at a special school board meeting held Wednesday afternoon.

“We appreciate all the work he’s done, and thank him for his years of service,” Superintendent Chris Anderson said.
