Melita Anna (Nank) McDonough, 96, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at Luther Manor.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where friends called from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Pamela Starr and Rev. Karen Candee concelebrated. Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West. Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
Melita was born March 30, 1916 in Dubuque, the daughter of Adam and Minnie (Rudolph) Nank. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. She married James B. McDonough on July 27, 1963 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 2009.
She was employed with First National Bank as a secretary. Melita was a long-time member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was also a member of the Food & Friendship Group. She also served as a volunteer with the Luther Manor Auxillary. Melita enjoyed painting.
Those left to cherish her memory include many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Melita was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marie, in infancy.
Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or Camp Courageous.
