Lisa Terry, age 45, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2012 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Dec. 29, 2012 at the Apostolic Assembly, rural Anamosa. A celebration of Lisa’s life started at 1 p.m. at the church. Rev. Clayton George officiated at the services.
Lisa Marie Adams was born March 18, 1967 in Denver, Colo. She was the daughter of Hubert and Fran Hickie, Adams. Lisa graduated from the Hempstead High School in Dubuque with the class of 1984. She had worked at the Telegraph Herald and Metrix in Dubuque.
Lisa married James Terry on Sept. 18, 1992 in Dubuque. The couple had lived in Dubuque, West Union, Oelwein and Cedar Rapids, before moving to Monticello. Lisa worked at Hardee’s and Orbis. She was working at Systems Unlimited until the cancer took its toll.
Lisa was a member of the Anamosa Apostolic Assembly and a volunteer in the youth ministry.
Surviving is her husband, James; four children, Holly, Grant, James Dakota and Adam; and her mother, Fran Adams, all of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
