God called to Elizabeth E. Williams on Jan. 30, 2013 and said it was time for her to join her husband, Ross A. Williams, Jr., in Heaven.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Iles Funeral Homes – Dunn’s Chapel, Des Moines. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines.
Elizabeth Ellen Wilson was born Aug. 26, 1930 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma Wilson. She grew up in Monticello, Iowa. Elizabeth worked for 30 years for Des Moines Public Schools as a math teacher. She was active in the Iowa Genealogical Society and the German and Ireland interest groups. Elizabeth was a member of the Quaker Church in Des Moines, where she was involved with the Clark Street House and was known as “Grandma Little” to all of the children.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Mike (Debra) Williams of Des Moines, Steve (Karen) Williams of Cambridge, Anita Williams of Stuart, Alisa Payton, Ruthann Nichols, Stephen Clark and Sam Davis; and grandson, Andrew Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Jim and grandson, Matthew.
