At 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Per Mar Security, advising of a bank robbery at Citizens State Bank on W. Broadway Street in Oxford Junction. Jones County deputies responded, along with the FBI.
According to a press release from the Omaha Division of the FBI, a “lone white male entered the bank with a pistol in his hand. The subject announced the robbery and made his way behind the teller counter.” The tellers, named as victims, “complied with the demand and gave the subject an undisclosed amount of money.
“The subject departed the bank and entered the driver’s side of a blue and silver regular cab, full-sized pickup truck, which was parked just outside the front door.” Reports saw the truck last seen traveling north out of Oxford Junction along Highway 136.
Surveillance footage and witnesses depict the subject as a white male, 5-feet 10-inches tall to six-feet tall, heavy build, brown eyes, wearing a gray or blue hooded sweatshirt, ski cap, black gloves and carrying a black semi-automatic pistol. The subject also had a bushy black beard, which may or may not have been fake.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office reported no injuries.
Both the Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are investigating the robbery.
