PHOTO: A three-vehicle accident on Highway 151 south of Monticello was reported on Monday morning, March 18, at around 8 a.m. The accident occurred in the northbound lane of Highway 151 near the Langworthy exit. Monticello Ambulance, Monticello Police, Jones County Sheriff’s Department and Monticello Fire all responded to the scene. Names and conditions were not available at press time.
At around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, the Jones County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of County Road X-44/Amber Road and 170th Street, south of Monticello.
One of the vehicles, a white Plymouth Voyager minivan, was driven by Alli Gracey, 24 years old, of Anamosa. Gracey was traveling west on 170th Street, a gravel road, when she attempted to cross County Road X-44, a hard surface road. She was struck by the second vehicle, a blue Chevy truck, driven by Lauren VonBehren, age 14, of Olin. VonBehren was traveling south on X-44. James VonBehren, age 40, of Olin, was a passenger in the truck.
Gracey was ejected from her van and transported to Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. A 1-year-old child, also in Gracey’s minivan, was airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City via AirCare, which landed on X-44.
The two occupants of the truck reported no injuries.
Assisting at the scene of the accident were the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department, Monticello Ambulance Service, Monticello Fire Department, Jones County Conservation and University of Iowa AirCare.
