Lawrence I. Dauber, 88, of Central City, passed away at home with his “girls” on Thursday, June 27, 2013. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Prairieburg, by Father Wayne Droessler. The family greeted friends from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City, with a scripture service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Lawrence was born September 29, 1924, to John and Marie (Saum) Dauber. He married Gladys Holub on February 21, 1949, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2009. They farmed for many years in the Prairieburg area, until moving to Central City in 2000. Lawrence was proud to say he loved what he did for a living every single day. Lawrence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prarieburg.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa (Kenneth) McNamara; granddaughter, Andrea McNamara; brother, James R. (Vivian) Dauber; sister-in-law, Florence Dauber; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents, John and Marie Dauber; sisters, Lois (Morris) Kohl, and Margaret (David) Himes; brother, Robert Dauber; parents-in-law, Paul and Mary Holub; and brother-in-law, Leonard Holub.
The family would like to thank the many relatives, friends, and neighbors who blessed Lawrence with their calls and visits. They also extend their thanks to Dr. Mary Anne Nelson, as well as Jeremy, and the staff at St. Luke’s Infusion Center for their care and compassion.
