Luella J. Pasker, 91, of Monticello, and formerly of Ryan, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Monticello Nursing & Rehab. Center, in Monticello, Iowa.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, in Ryan, Iowa, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Richard Gaul with Deacon James Pasker assisting.

Friends called from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello where a vigil service was held at 6:30 p.m.

Placing of the pall was done by Luella’s children: Claudene, Verna Mae, Marie, Dorothy, John, and Jim.

Mass servers were Laura Riess, Laura and Jim Drummy, and ushers were Dave and Donna Lux.

Lectors were Deacon James Pasker, Carl and Steve Soppe.

Giftbearers were Suzi Demmer, Kathy Ineck, Terri Tallman and Steve Peterson.

Music was provided by Anita Sperfslage and Stacey Ryan.  

Pallbearers were Larry, Steve, Carl, Mark, Cody Soppe and Steve Peterson.

Luella was born, on January 14, 1922 in Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Bernadine (Nefzger) Dingbaum. She married John “Jack” A. Pasker on October 1, 1940, in Petersburg, Iowa.  Together they farmed in the Ryan community for many years.  She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church of Ryan.

Survivors include her children Claudene (Carl) Staner of Omaha, Ariz., Verna Mae (Terry) Galvin of Iowa City, Marie (LJ) Takes of Monticello, Dorothy (Jerry) Peterson of Madison, Ala., John (Shirley) Pasker of Cedar Rapids, Jim (Mary) Pasker of Boise Idaho; 16 grandchildren: Larry (Sue) Soppe, Mark (Marcia) Soppe, Steve (Vickie) Soppe, Carl (fiancée Kristi Tegeler) Soppe, Jackie (Tony) Taddonio, Michelle (Brian Mildenstein) Galvin, Terri (Aaron) Tallman, Tony (fiancée Lindsey Fjelstul) Takes, Steven Peterson, Karen Peterson, Jeff (Michelle) Pappas, Keri Pasker, Brittney Pasker, Kathy (Jim) Ineck, Suzi (Jason) Demmer and David (Amber) Pasker; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings: Rosemary Pasker of Manchester, and Irvin (Mary) Dingbaum of Oelwein; in-laws: Jeanette Pasker of Cedar Rapids, Ida Funke of Grayslake, Ill., Alphonse (Mae) Pasker, Irene (Don) Salow and Irene Pasker all of Manchester, Elsie Dingbaum of Dyersville, Genevieve Dingbaum of Dubuque and Richard Kluesner of Farley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; siblings: Nettie (Joe) Pasker, Henrietta Kluesner, Leonard, Luvern and Edwin Dingbaum, and Betty (Robert) Luensman; in-laws: William, Albert and Leo Pasker.
