Dale Everett Yousse, age 83, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, Nov. 9, 2013, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Paul Finger officiated at the service. Friends called from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello.
Dale Everett Yousse was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Monticello, Iowa. He was the son of Norman (Dayton) and Mabel Lambert Yousse. Dale graduated from Monticello High School in 1949. Dale shoed horses by trade and farmed. On Jan. 28, 1960, Dale and JoAnn Harms were united in marriage at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in rural Monticello. He was a member of St. Matthew Church for more than 50 years, as well as the Anamosa Coon Hunters. He loved fishing, hunting and swim racing with his coon hounds. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always had a smile and a pot of coffee ready to enjoy with all his friends and family. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
Surviving are his wife JoAnn; five children, Dan (Joanne) Yousse, Dean (Pat) Yousse, Tanda Foster (Brad Merfeld), Shawn (Kevin) Green, and Dale Joe (Jackie) Yousse; a brother, Duane Yousse of Bradington, Fla.; 15 grandchildren, Missy, Wayne, Tracy, Jill, Andi, Jereame, Desi, Holly, Tim, Dustin, Kendall, Brianna, Brice, Allissa, Neveah; 10 great-grandchildren, Jude, Katelyn, Logan, Bekah, Jay, Sydney, Talyn, Alex, Aluxzis, Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dayton (Mona) Yousse, a sister-in-law Norma Jean Yousse.
