      Benjamin F. Sauerbry, 45, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids surrounded by his family.

    Inurnment will be held at a later date.

    Benjamin was born on Jan. 29, 1980, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Dale and Annette (Sevart) Sauerbry.

Samuel David “Dave” Weaver March 11, 1948 – March 25, 2025

      Samuel David “Dave” Weaver, 77, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. Born on March 11, 1948, in Anamosa, Dave was the beloved son of Helen Catherine Corbit and Samuel Pierce Weaver.

Raymond (Casey) Rickels May 12, 1934 – March 18, 2025

      On March 18, 2025, Raymond (Casey) Rickels of Mt. Vernon, loving father, husband and grandfather, passed away at age 90. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (Sue) Rickels.

    Funeral services will be held at Mt. Vernon Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Brighton, Iowa.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, has taken Ray and his family into their care.

Lucille Waggoner Dec. 8, 1929 – March 21, 2025

      Lucille Waggoner, 95, died Friday evening, March 21, 2025, at University Hospital, Iowa City following a brief illness.

    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2025, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in the Wyoming Cemetery. Pastor Phil Jorgensen will officiate at the services. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Lucille and her family into their care. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jones County Senior Center or Onslow Community Club.

Mary Ellen Nosbish Feb. 22, 1936 –March 10, 2025

    Mary Ellen Nosbish, 89, of Monticello, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha.

    Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello where a funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with Rev. Paul Baldwin officiating.

    Mary Ellen was born on Feb. 22, 1936, in Sand Springs, Iowa, daughter of George and Florence (Jurgens) Heims. She married Bob Nosbish on Oct. 16, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello.

Dennis Pisarik Jan. 25, 1944 – March 4, 2025

         Dennis Vincent Pisarik, 81, of Mechanicsville, Iowa, formerly of Hopkinton, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with his family by his side, after living with Parkinsons for 28 years. Visitation was held Sunday, March 9 from 4-7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mechanicsville. The rosary was recited at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mechanicsville. Reverend James Flattery officiated. Burial with military honors was held at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Solon.

Michael H. Redmond April 15, 1933 – Feb. 16, 2025

      Michael Henry Redmond, 91, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. He was born on April 15, 1933, to Vincent and Ruthe (Lewis) Redmond in Hopkinton, Iowa. Though he traveled the country, Mike spent most of his life in and around the Monticello area, where he lived with his wife and partner of 46 years, Marion (Wilming) Redmond.

      Mary J. Tschantz, 93, of Monticello, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, at Anamosa Care Center in Anamosa.

    Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Monticello. Funeral services will commence at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Dave Raemisch will officiate.

Roger M. Boffeli Oct. 9, 1962 – Feb. 19, 2025

      Roger M. Boffeli, 62, of Runnels, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025 with family by his side at his home, after an extended illness. Per Roger’s wishes no services will be held at this time.

    Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Monticello, with services immediately following. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
