Fern (Decker) Loes, formerly of Monticello, Cascade, and Cedar Rapids, passed away at age 95 in Sioux Falls, S.D. on March 27, 2025.

       Graveside services were held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in
Cascade, followed by a luncheon at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cascade.

      Our mother, Rose Marie Carmen Huidobro Sakar Serratos, Morris, Wolfe was born Jan. 5, 1940, in Mexico City and passed on Oct. 10, 2025, in her home in Golden Valley, Ariz. of cancer, she was 85 years old.

       Lynn Edward Tedrow, of Winchester, Va., age 75, passed away on Oct. 9, 2025, at Inova Hospital, Fairfax, Va. Lynn was born on Dec. 29, 1949, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, Iowa. He was the son of Harold (Dean) Tedrow and Margaret (Peggy) Schleder Tedrow.

      Barbara Zimmerman, 81, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, Iowa.

    Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at St. John Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in the St. John Cemetery.  Pastor Tim Eckert officiated at the services. Friends called after 10 a.m. at the church.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Barbara and her family into their care.

Stanley “Stan” Willms May 29, 1950 – July 12, 2025

Stanley “Stan” Willms, 75, of Olympia, Wash., passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2025, surrounded by his wife Joyce, daughter Michele, son Shane, and granddaughters Aliyah and Amanda. In his final days, he found comfort looking out the window at the  view of Mt. Rainier, Budd Inlet, and the Capitol.

Irma Kathleen Leonard, 91, of Monticello, Iowa passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited with the love of her life, her late husband, Mark, who passed away on July 4, 2025. The two shared a remarkable 70 years of marriage. She now joins him in heaven, where their love story continues.

Marie Kurth, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

      Private family services will be held with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.  Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Marie and her family into their care. Chaplin Jeff Tackaberry will officiate at the services.

Thomas Avery, 78, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at University Hospital, Iowa City. 

      Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Hopkinton Community Church with interment in Hopkinton Cemetery with military honors.   Friends called after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Tom and his family into their care. 

Joan “Becky” Kehoe April 18, 1947 – Sept. 22, 2025

Joan “Becky” Kehoe, 78, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at Cascade Care Center.

      Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello. Interment was in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Castle Grove.  Friends called from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral Home. 

      Surviving is her husband Ronald; three children, Lori Ann (Kevin) Hach, Brian (Angie) Kehoe, and Lisa (Matt) Nelson; three grandchildren, Conner, Keaton, and Michael.  She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Lois.

Joan Miriam Enter, 85, of Cape Fair, Mo. passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024. She was born Oct. 6, 1939, to Russell "Bud" and Viola Suter in Monticello, Iowa.
