Jeanne Heissler, 83, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Jones Regional Medical Center.

      There are no services scheduled at this time.  Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Jeanne and her family into their care. 

      Surviving is her husband Albert; five children, Eugene Heissler, Albert Paul Heissler Jr., Kimberly Ann Flores, Michelle Rose (John) Byrd, and Melissa Helene Heissler; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Allen, Jerry, Jacquelyn, Jocelyn, Joshua and Bruce; and a great-grandson Zayne.

Michelle Lynn Stephen Jan. 12, 1967 – Aug. 25, 2025

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Michelle Lynn Stephen, a cherished daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on Aug. 25, 2025, due to a tragic house fire near Tahlequah, Okla. Michelle's journey began on Jan. 12, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she was born to her loving parents, Linda (Bob) Welsch and Roger (Sandy) Stephen.

Susan Jaeger, 71, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at University Hospitals, Iowa City, surrounded by her family.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 9 a.m.  Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. 

Larry Dean Larson May 4, 1942 – Sept. 14, 2025

      Larry Dean Larson, 83, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, with a two-hour visitation beginning at 12 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.

Robert Dean Hatcher Death – Aug. 27, 2005

      Robert Dean Hatcher, 94, passed away peacefully under hospice care at his home in Stone City, Iowa on Aug.  27, 2025.

      Robert (Bob) married Doris Stinger on Nov. 12, 1950 and served our country in both the Navy and Army. His career as an agricultural sales manager for Land O’ Lakes spanned over 40 years before he found his true passion – working for Jones County Tourism which he did until age 92.

      Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Hopkinton Community Church, with interment in Hopkinton Cemetery with Military Honors, and Fireman’s Last Call. Visitation was held on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.

Gilbert Kemp, 79, died Sunday evening, Sept. 7, 2025 at his home.

      Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Hopkinton Community Church, with interment in the Hopkinton Cemetery with Military Honors, and Fireman’s Last Call. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello. 

Aiden T. Grant Jan. 11, 2010 – Sept. 3, 2025

Aiden T. Grant, 15, of Monticello, Iowa passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospital. As an organ donor, Aiden will live on through the life of others.

      Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Monticello. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Isaac Boadu will officiate.

Darrell Reyner Aug. 17, 1956 – Aug. 26, 2025

Darrell Reyner, 69, died suddenly, Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at his home.

      A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at the Monticello Eagles Club from 12 until 5 p.m., with a prayer service from 12-12:30 p.m. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, has taken Darrell and his family into their care.
