Gilbert Kemp, 79, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025 at his home.

      Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Hopkinton Community Church, with interment in Hopkinton Cemetery with Military Honors, and Fireman’s Last Call. Visitation was held on Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.

Gilbert Kemp, 79, died Sunday evening, Sept. 7, 2025 at his home.

Aiden T. Grant Jan. 11, 2010 – Sept. 3, 2025

Aiden T. Grant, 15, of Monticello, Iowa passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at University of Iowa Hospital. As an organ donor, Aiden will live on through the life of others.

      Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Monticello. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Isaac Boadu will officiate.

Darrell Reyner Aug. 17, 1956 – Aug. 26, 2025

Darrell Reyner, 69, died suddenly, Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at his home.

      A celebration of life was held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at the Monticello Eagles Club from 12 until 5 p.m., with a prayer service from 12-12:30 p.m. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, has taken Darrell and his family into their care. 

Philip Koob July 23, 1965 – Aug. 24, 2025

Philip Koob, 60, of Cascade, Iowa passed away on Aug. 24, 2025, at Jones Regional Hospital in Anamosa, Iowa.

      A graveside service for Philip will be held on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, in Cascade, with Rev. Michael Schueller presiding.  A Celebration of Life for Philip will be held at a later date.  The Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade is assisting the family with arrangements.

Danette Pestka Nov. 22, 1968 – Aug. 21, 2025

Danette Pestka, 56, of Oxford Junction, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Aug. 21, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

      Danette was born on Nov. 22, 1968, to Melvin and Sharon (Jeffery) Latare. On June 17, 1989, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clay Pestka, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction. Together they built a family filled with love and cherished memories.

Debora (Debbie) A. Peck, 66, of Hopkinton, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025. Per Debora’s wishes her body has been cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Hopkinton Cemetery.

Carol Helgens, age 85, died peacefully, Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids.

      Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello with interment in Wayne Zion Cemetery. Pastor Phil Jorgensen officiated at the services. Friends called after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. 

Patricia Wright April 29, 1945 – Aug. 8, 2025

Patricia Wright, 80, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

      Visitation was held 9-11 a.m. at Springville Presbyterian Church Monday, Aug., 18. Funeral services followed at 11 a.m. with lunch immediately following the service. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, at a later date.  Pastor David Snyder will officiated the services.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Pat and her family into their care.

Wallace “Wally” Tuetken, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

      Private family services will be held at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with interment in Oakwood Cemetery.  Pastor Bill Warhover will officiat at the services.  The family requests no flowers or gifts. Memorials may be made and sent to your favorite charity.
