     Chris Russell West, Anamosa, was found guilty of carrying weapons. He was sentenced to two years in prison, and fined $855 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year.

     Joshua David Klaren, Marion, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred. A jury trial is set for Feb. 8.

     Dechone Lee Jackson, Monticello, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred. A jury trial is set for Feb. 8.

     Keith David Oppelt, Bellevue, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred. A jury trial is set for Feb. 8.

     Martin Lopez, Romeoville, Ill., pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined $55 plus court costs.

     Jeffrey Lee Clark, Maquoketa, was found guilty of texting/using mobile phone while operating CMV. He was fined $70 plus court costs.

     Jose Agustin Miralda Tejeda, Tiffin, pleaded guilty to speeding and driving while license suspended. He was fined a total of $355 plus court costs.

     Kira Ann Hacker, Monticello, had a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, dismissed.

     12:19 a.m. – Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle near N. Cedar St. and E. First St.

     7:51 a.m. – Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on El Camino Real.

     7:53 a.m. – Police received a traffic complaint near First St. and Main St.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Oct. 28 at 6:56 a.m. on County Road E-17. Joshua Allen Ericson, 35, of Oelwein was driving a 2018 Ford Transit when he encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to Ericson’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000.

     Nathanyal Robert Ivanov, Springbrook, was found to be in violation of probation, which was revoked. He was sentenced to 25 days in jail, and fined court costs.

     Dalton Allan Dague, Olin, pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily injury (domestic abuse). He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, and fined $430 plus court costs. All but two days were suspended, and Dague was placed on self-supervised probation for one year.

     Jamie Lee Bickford, Hopkinton, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred. A jury trial is set for Feb. 1.

     Emily Margaret Cigrand, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to permitting unauthorized person to drive. She was fined $260 plus court costs.

     Brent Michael Wallenmeyer, Olin, pleaded guilty to driving while license denied/suspended/cancelled/revoked. He was fined $260 plus court costs.

     Kylee Jo Schmalfeldt, Monmouth, pleaded guilty to driving while license denied/suspended/cancelled/revoked. She was fined $250 plus court costs.

     Jason Charles McElmeel, Monticello, was charged with disorderly conduct-fighting/violent behavior. No court date was set.

     6:53 a.m. – Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle near First St. and Main St.

     10:40 a.m. – Police responded to a call about a suspicious person in the 400 block of E. First St.

     10:51 a.m. – Police assisted a motorist on Highway 151 southbound near Langworthy Rd.
