     A car versus deer accident took place on Jan. 26 at 5:30 a.m. on Hi8ghway 38. Gary Jay Wiltsey, 55, of Clarence, was driving a 2003 Chevy Cavalier when he came into contact with a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Wiltsey’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.

     Steven Ray Barnes, Lost Nation, was charged with OWI 1st offense and eluding. An arraignment is set for Jan. 30.

     Ryan Ray Oldfather, Anamosa, was arrested for driving while license denied/revoked. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 3.

     Tanya Sue Nunez, Cedar Rapids, pleaded not guilty to possession of marijuana 3rd offense and possession of methamphetmine 1st offense. A jury trial is set for March 28.

     Jennifer Anne Isbell, Cedar Rapids, pleaded guilty to driving while license under suspension. She was fined $250 plus court costs.

     Ronald Lee Bartlett, Olin, pleaded guilty to restrictions on taking game-deer and turkey. He was fined $65 plus court costs.

     John J. Kappler, Viroqua, Wis., pleaded guilty to speeding. He was fined $90 plus court costs.

     Susan Marie Hess Carroll, Coralville, pleaded guilty to speeding. She was fined $80 plus court costs.

     12:11 p.m. – Police responded to a complaint on the 200 block of N. Pine St.

     12:21 p.m. – Police responded to an accident on the 200 block of Plastic Lane.

     6:36 p.m. – Police assisted the EMS at 235 N. Gill St.

     11:12 p.m. – Police were called about a suspicious person/vehicle on the 700 block of N. Birch St.

     A one-vehicle accident took place on Jan. 18 at 9:35 p.m. on County Road E-34. Tiffany Renea Schroeder, 23, of Anamosa, was driving a 2008 Ford Focus when she hit a patch of ice on the roadway. While trying to regain control of the vehicle, Schroeder over corrected and entered the ditch, striking a utility pole. She sustained possible minor injuries. There was $200 in damages to the utility pole owned by Alliant Energy. Schroeder’s vehicle sustained approximately $10,000 in damages.

     Tyler Michael Brisbin, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. He was sentenced to two years in prison. His sentence was suspended, and Brisbin was placed on probation for two years. He was also ordered to pay restitution, and was fined $625 plus court costs.

     Nadine Paige Shropshire, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to no valid driver’s license. She was fined $200 plus court costs.

     Holly Marie Bedenbender, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to permitting unauthorized minor to drive. She was fined $200 plus court costs.

     Halsey Lee Hunt, Morley, pleaded not guilty to domestic abuse assault 1st offense. A non-jury trial is set for Jan. 25.

     Ronald John Martin, Scotch Grove, was arrested for obstruction of emergency communications. No court date was set.

     A car versus deer accident took place on Jan. 9 at 6:37 a.m. on Highway 151. Amy Leigh Bunn, 45, of Monticello was driving a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan when she encountered a deer in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Bunn’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 in damages.
