Achievements of '24 lauded at 4-H Awards Program

   Jones County 4-H members were honored for their achievements of 2024, during the Jones County 4-H Awards Program Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Youth Development Center in Monticello.

   Following a meal provided by the Jones County Cattlemen, the Jones County 4-H County County Council was installed. Then came the presentation of awards.

   Near the end of the program, retiring 4-H youth development program specialist Jacki Luckstead was presented with a special plaque honoring her for nearly 19 years of service. The award was presented by Abby Boysen, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach regional director for Region 11.

   Prior to presenting the award, Boysen stated, in part: “Jacki worked diligently to lead educational opportunities to fulfull the 4-H mission of empowering youth to reach their full potential.

   “Jacki’s legacy in youth development in undoubtedly impactful. She epitomizes the 4-H motto, ‘To Make the Best Better.’ ”
