AWF Shelter offers low-cost microchipping, vaccinations

     The American Humane Association estimates that 1 out of 3 pets becomes lost at some point in their lifetime.

     Animal Welfare Friends (AWF) Shelter in Monticello is hosting a low-cost microchip and vaccination event for cats and dogs on Saturday, May 1, at the shelter. AWF is located at 22407 Business Highway 151.

     Vaccinations will be administered by the Monticello Veterinary Clinic. Pets will be taken on a first-come-first-served basis. Cash and checks are accepted.

     • Microchipping, 12:30-2 p.m., $20 per animal

     • Rabies vaccination, 1-2 p.m., $10 per animal

     • Distemper vaccination, 1-2 p.m., $15 per animal
