Blue Raiders win 3-of-4 at Warrior Duals

   Wrestling in the Warrior Dual Tournament, hosted by Central Elkader, on Dec. 5, the Anamosa girls wrestling team won 3-of-4 duals to take second place.

   In round one, the Blue Raiders defeated Sumner-Fredericksburg 39-35. Anamosa won 4-of-7 contested matches, and Monticello senior Izzy Taylor received a forfeit at 170.

   In round two, the Blue Raiders took down Central Elkader 39-15. Against the Warriors, Anamosa won 6-of-8 contested matches.

   Taylor pinned Ava Abbott in just 17 seconds.

   After a bye in round three, Anamosa fell to Benton Community 45-30. The sides split in the eight contested matches.

   Taylor dropped her match to Lizzy Wolf, falling in a 4-3 decision.

   In the fifth and final round, the Blue Raiders tied East Buchanan, 36-36. In five contested matches, the Buccaneers won three. Taylor picked up another win via forfeit.
