A Service of Remembrance was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024 at Berean Bible Church, 16107 County Road E16, Monticello.  Pastor Mike Martin officiated at the services.  Friends called from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Brenda and her family into their care.  Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at Goettschonline.com.

Brenda was born Aug. 24, 1969 in Rochester, Ind. Brenda moved many times as a child with her family due to her father’s military career. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School (Wisconsin) Class of 1987. Brenda had a love for adventure. After high school she spent time on the east coast as a nanny. She formed many relationships that have lasted a lifetime. Brenda settled back in Wisconsin where she met her husband, Luke. She did clerical and accounting work in an office setting most of her career. Brenda was a passionate Green Bay Packers fan. She loved to shop! She made the best cookies and coffee cake. Brenda loved a great party surrounded by family and friends and was always looking forward to her next trip to Destin, Fla. Her favorite spot was to sit on the beach at sunset.

Brenda married Luke on Oct. 17, 2015, in Destin, Fla. The joy of her life was being a mother to their daughter Izzy (12), a wife to Luke and being together with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Lucas Luensman; their beautiful daughter Isabelle; parents Doug and Sharon (Crabill) Harried; siblings Greg (Sharon) Harried, Jody (Chuck) Layne, and Sherry (Matt) Law; brothers-in-law Chuck (Robyn) Luensman, Dom (Jen) Luensman, Ryan (Meleah) Luensman; and a sister-in-law Cassie Luensman. She will be dearly missed by my numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, plus many friends! Her pets Lilly, Kobe, Poppy, Willow and Ida will miss her snuggles and the great care she took of them.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and fraternal grandparents, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, and her brother-in-law Chuck Layne.

Brenda fought a courageous battle against breast cancer and then uterine cancer. She never gave up hope. The family would like to thank Above and Beyond Hospice of Monticello for the great care they took of Brenda in her last days. Many thanks to the family and friends that walked alongside her on this journey.

In lieu of plants and flowers the family asks that you make a donation to Izzy’s future education.
