Candidates should engage with voters

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor,

We are rapidly approaching the November election with many important local, state, and national campaigns to consider. I believe we have some very strong candidates for local legislative races and county supervisors.

Voters need to be as informed as possible regarding the candidates references prior to casting their ballot. Therefore, I urge candidates in the above races to engage in public forums where local media can report their comments to the readers. Each candidate should be proud of their views and eager to share their perspectives and interaction with the public in a structured and robust exchange. I am confident that Tony Amsler is eager for public forums to engage with voters on the issues and future of Iowa. All voters deserve an opportunity to see the candidates respond to questions and interact with each other in a public forum.
