Carpenter school collecting donations for food pantry

Carpenter Elementary, grades 2-4, is having a food drive contest for the Monticello Food Pantry.

Food and non-perishable items will be collected in the music room starting Nov. 7 through Dec. 2. See below for their specific needs; however, any donation will be accepted. Participation in this food drive is voluntary.

For their good deeds, each grade level will be rewarded with an extra 20 minutes of recess. Kindness is about helping others with all of your heart!

“We always talk about how our good deeds can help others, and the food pantry has always been a place that I support,” noted Thumma. “I think it’s wonderful that Monticello has a food pantry and it’s great that so many businesses and community members support their mission.”
