Conventions and more keep Midland officers busy

The Midland FFA Chapter’s officers have stayed busy with a wide variety of conventions, contests, meetings and other activities.
Here is a capsule look at this year’s officer class.
Name: Hannah Fishwild
Year in school: Senior
Office held: Co-President
Parents/Guardians: Scott and Sarah Fishwild
Hometown: Wyoming
SAE project: Beef Entrepreneurship; 60-head cow/calf operation.
FFA activities: Ag Issues, Chapter Program, Floriculture, Vet Science, Fruit Sales, Ag Communication, Creed Speaking, Farm Safety, Experience the Action, Livestock Judging, showing cattle at Wyoming, Jones County and State fairs; Christmas Light Setup, Petting Zoos, Community Service.
Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: Getting to compete at National Convention and placing fourth in the nation in Ag Issues.
Future plans: Attend Iowa State University, majoring in kinesiology.
Name: Karley Schaefer
Year in school: Senior
Office held: Co-President

Hometown: Onslow
SAE project: Equine placement – caring for and training Silver’s Wee Kid.
FFA activities: Ag Issues, Highway Cleanup, National Convention, Meals to Farmers, Wreath-Making, Ag Communication, showing horses at Jones County and State fairs, and nationally through the POA organization.
Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: Being State Reserve Champions in Agriculture Communications.
Future plans: Attend Iowa State University to study kinesiology/pre-physician assistant.

Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: “My first National Convention was one of the most action-packed and fun times of my life. Otherwise being a part of this year’s officer team has been one of the most interesting teams I have ever been a part of.”
Future plans: Attend college for engineering.

Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: Advancing to State and placing fourth for Experience the Action, and attending National Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

Future plans: “I plan to go into agriculture and farm.”
