      Corrine Marion Schneiter, 70, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at UnityPoint Health, St. Luke’s Hospital with her family by her side from complications of multiple-myleloma.

    Corrine was born the third of five children at Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Manchester, Iowa on Oct. 16, 1953 to Howard H. and Faye C. Boss Schneiter.

    Corrine attended school in Coggon and Monticello, graduating in 1972. She attended Kirkwood Community College and completed a one-year course in accounting. Upon completion she was employed by Downing Box/Longview Fibre Company. After many name changes within the same building she retired from Westrock as an accounting/human resources associate in 2018.

    She became a member of Pythian Sisters in 1994 and would have been a 50-year member this fall. She held many offices in the local chapter as well as at the state level. At the time of her death she was Supreme Protector and looking forward to serving as the Supreme Chief in 2028-2030.

    Corrine was an avid collector of teddy bears of all types and was always looking to add to her collection. Once retired, Corrine became an accomplished quilter, amassing a large collection for charity and family as well as continuing to crochet a wide variety of items for many to enjoy.

    Corrine is survived by siblings, Calvin H. (April) Schneiter of Cedar Rapids, Connie F. Edwards of Monticello, Colleen Schneiter of Hiawatha and Colette (Paul) Knoll of Standwood; niece, Carrie (Fred) Smith of Johnston; and nephew, Rob Edwards of Anamosa. She is also survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great nephews.

    Corrine was preceded in death by her parents, Howard H. and Faye C. Boss Schneiter; brother-in-law, Robert “Rocky” Edwards; grandparents and aunts and uncles.

    Corrine will be greatly missed  by all who knew her as a loving and generous individual who gave of her time and spirit. The family will hold private graveside services at Cedar Memorial Park and Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 at Stanwood City Park beginning at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to come and share memories of her life and love.

    Her family wishes to thank the staff and specialist at Hall Perrine Cancer Center and Mayo Clinic and Hospitals for the care over the last 20 years.
