District Court

     Jordan Lee Jaeger, Marion, pleaded guilty to possession of burglar’s tools. He was sentenced to 75 days in jail, and fined $85 plus court costs. All but 15 days were suspended, and Jaeger was placed on self-supervised probation for two years.

     Charles James Ellison, Monticello, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while license barred. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail, to run concurrently with three other sentences, and fined $1,500 plus court costs.

     Keith D. Whittmon Anderson, Jr., Cedar Rapids, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred. A jury trial is set for Jan. 25.

     Jacci Nicole Usher, Monticello, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred and possession of marijuana 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Jan. 25.

     Joshua Ray Kaczinski, Baldwin, pleaded not guilty to driving while barred and domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood. A jury trial is set for Jan. 25.

     Reece Paul Schmit, Monticello, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of 4th degree criminal mischief. He was sentenced to seven days in jail, and fined $430 plus court costs. He was also ordered to pay victim restitution. Schmit had a charge of 5th degree theft, dismissed.

     Curtis William Ackerman, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, and fined $1,250 plus court costs. All but 15 days were suspended, and he was placed on supervised probation for one year. Ackerman also pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of domestic (abuse) enhanced. He was sentenced to two years in prison, and fined $855 plus court costs. All but two days were suspended, and he was placed on supervised probation for two years.

     Mathew Kenneth Koob, Stanwood, pleaded not guilty to 1st degree theft and 2nd degree burglary. A jury trial is set for Dec. 7.

     Mitchell Lee Wolford, Montezuma, was found guilty of assault causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, and fined $315 plus court costs. All but two days were suspended, and he was placed on self-supervised probation for one year.

     Talanda Champagne, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to 4th degree theft. She was fined $430 plus court costs.

     Tanner Clayton Hayzlett, Olin, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault causing bodily injury/mental illness. A jury trial is set for Jan. 25.

     Isai Zapo Escribano, Wyoming, was charged with domestic abuse assault-causing injury. No court date was set.

     Jacob Anthony Patty, Cascade, was arrested for possession of marijuana 1st offense. No court date was set.

     Denny Alan Zimmerman, Solon, pleaded not guilty to OWI 1st offense. A jury trial is set for Jan. 25.
