District Court

     Jamie Allen Swanson, Olin, pleaded not guilty to intimidation with a dangerous weapon-injuring/provoking fear, dominion/control of firearm/offensive weapon by felon, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, 1st degree harassment, and possessing/carrying dangerous weapons while under the influence. A jury trial is set for July 12.

     Kelsey Mae Kirby, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to the lesser offenses of two counts of operating without owner’s consent. She was sentenced to two years in prison, to run consecutively with another sentence, and fined a total of $1,250 plus court costs. The sentence and fine were suspended, and Kirby was placed on supervised probation for one year. She was ordered to pay victim restitution in the amount of $1,000. She had charges of impersonating a public official, 4th degree theft, and driving while license denied/revoked, all dismissed.

     Jason Wayne Casper, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of 4th degree theft and possession of methamphetamine 3rd offense. He was sentenced to five years in prison, to run concurrently with a sentence in Linn County, and fined a total of $1,455 plus court costs. The sentence was suspended, and Casper was placed on supervised probation for three years. He was also ordered to pay victim restitution in the amount of $500.

     Reilly Carl James Beitz Siems, Anamosa, pleaded guilty to enticing a minor. He was sentenced to five years in prison, and fined $1,025 plus court costs, and ordered to pay a sexual abuse civil penalty of $250. The sentence and fine were both suspended, and Siems was placed on supervised probation for three years. He had charges of dissemination and exhibition of obscene materials to a minor, dismissed.

     Mathew Kenneth Koob, Stanwood, pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent. Judgment was deferred, and he was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. He was ordered to pay a civil penalty of $855 plus court costs. The civil penalty was suspended.

     Mitchell Trent Bendixen, Olin, was charged with two counts of failure to comply with sex offender registry requirements 2nd offense. An arraignment is set for April 18.

     Nicklaus Ryan Clark, Hopkinton, was charged with 3rd degree theft and possession of marijuana 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for April 20.

     Nicholas Scott Coulson, Dubuque, was charged with 3rd degree theft and possession of marijuana 1st offense. A preliminary hearing is set for April 20.

     Austin Lynn Carstensen, Mechanicsville, was charged with OWI 1st offense. No court date was set.
