Five MHS groups earn ‘I’ ratings at state speech

Five Monticello High School groups earned Division I ratings at the State Large-Group Speech Contest Saturday, Feb. 5 at Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School.
The groups were waiting to hear, late Monday afternoon, if any had been chosen to perform in the All-State Large-Group Speech Festival.
MHS had 11 events entered.
The following groups earned a “I” rating:
Group Mime – Mia Jaeger and Bella Mullen.
Radio Broadcasting – Serena Brokaw, Marisa Grant, Becky Lang, Aleasha Schilling, Reagan Schneiter, Nora Sperfslage and Jackie Stadtmueller.
Short Film – Harrison Ahlrichs, Sully Flynn, Karle Kramer, Jacob Miller and Dylan Ponder.
Group Improv – Mia Jaeger and Bella Mullen.
Group Improv – Grant Hospodarsky and Evan Martensen.
The following groups received a “II” rating:
Radio Broadcasting – Sully Flynn, Karle Kramer and Ian Temple.
Radio Broadcasting – Grant Hospodarsky and Evan Martensen.
Freshman Reader’s Theatre – Zander Alden, Lydia Ahlrichs, Royce Kiburz, Charly Lloyd, Alexis Orth, Meredith Parker, Lorelei Rieken, Miranda Rieken, Karli Schwendinger and Kendall Siebels.
Freshman Ensemble Acting – Alexis Orth, Meredith Parker, Lorelei Rieken and Miranda Rieken.
Freshman Group Improv – Lydia Ahlrichs and Leah Koehler.
Freshman Radio Broadcasting – Karli Schwendinger and Kendall Siebels.
