The International Paper Foundation has awarded a $8,000 grant to Camp Courageous to support their year-round respite care program. This grant is just one example of International Paper’s commitment to the company’s signature causes, which include education, hunger, health and wellness, disaster relief and initiatives that improve the planet. The company is committed to addressing critical community needs where their employees live and work.
This funding will help Camp Courageous provide camperships for its Respite Care Program, which occurs a couple weekends a month, and emergency respite care is available 24/7.
“At International Paper, we believe our company cannot succeed if our communities do not succeed,” said Megan Shook, communications specialist, Cedar River Mill. “We are proud to support camperships so all campers can experience Camp Courageous.”
Camp Courageous is a year-round recreational, respite care, and travel facility for those with disabilities. Run on donations, with no government support, it is only through organizations, like International Paper, that supply financial support and volunteer support, that is it able to reach out to nearly 10,000 campers. International Paper has been a friend of Camp Courageous for decades.
