JCED, ECICOG seeks public input via transportation-themed survey

Jones County Economic Development (JCED) is working with the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG) on many different initiatives. One of them is the Envision East Central Iowa comprehensive plan that Jones County residents helped offer input for over the past year. While there are many great activities in the works, JCED and ECICOG are currently seeking public input for the development of a regional Active Transportation Plan (ATP). The plan will focus not only on regional trails, but local sidewalk and bike facilities.

By visiting this link, https://tinyurl.com/mrxeu994, you are asked to fill out a short survey regarding transportation throughout the ECICOG region (Benton, Cedar, Johnson, Jones, Linn, Iowa, and Washington counties).

“We want a representative sample from Jones County on these important issues,” urged JCED Director Derek Lumsden.

This survey is one of multiple planned public engagement activities. ECICOG will also be hosting an open house in each county in June.

“We’ve been working with our Regional Trails Advisory Group members to identify a time and location for those meetings, and will let you know when they’re scheduled,” offered Lumsden. “If you have thoughts or questions, certainly let me know.”

You can contact Lumsden at director@jonescountydevelopment.com or 319-480-7446.
