Kenneth Robert Harms, 91, of Onslow passed away on Jan. 30, 2025, at the Clarence Nursing Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Onslow Community Room from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025. His private graveside service will take place at the Wyoming Cemetery. Dawson Funeral Services is caring for his family.
Kenneth was born on Nov. 15, 1933, on a farm in rural Onslow to Harm and Mildred (Hamilton) Harms. He graduated from Onslow High School in 1951. He faithfully and honorably served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. On Feb. 15, 1959, he married Barbara Dietiker. From 1958 to 1959, he ran the FS Gas Station in Onslow and also farmed on his family farm until his retirement. Onslow was always home for him, and he worked as a maintenance man for the City of Onslow for several years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Brett (Janetta) Harms of Wyoming and Bart (Sue) Harms of Onslow; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; in-laws Paul and Selma Dietiker; sisters, Phyllis Harms, Shirley Holerud; and a nephew Kevin Bahnsen.
