The Monticello Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) partnered with Fareway Stores as gift cards were awarded to businesses and organizations in the area. The gift cards are tended to support small businesses and their employees who have been impacted during the COVID-19 crisis. In total, 40 cards totaling $2,000 were funded and presented by the MACC, Inc.

“We are so grateful that Fareway Sores partnered with chamber of commerce organizations across Iowa,” said Jan Hoag, director of the MACC, who applied for the grants from IACC (Iowa Associations of Chambers of Commerce). “This resource gives us an additional tool to support those in need and keep money flowing through our area.”

“We are excited to continue our support of small businesses and their employees during this holiday season,” said Fareway President and CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “As small businesses continue to face challenges, we are proud to again partner with the IACC, which understands how best to serve its small business members during this unique economic time.”

In 2020, Fareway has provided nearly $500,000 in support to small businesses in partnership with IACC and local chamber of commerce members.

“Our local chamber members work diligently every day to strengthen communities throughout Iowa,” said IACC Executive Director Lane Till. “Through this generous additional donation from Fareway, our members will have the ability to help support the small businesses that create the heart of each of their communities.”
