Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Cynthia; his mother, Lucille Aupperle; two children, Eric, and Nicole; six grandchildren; his siblings, Pam (Dave) Evens, Dale (Monica) Frank; and nieces and nephews, Matthew (Tracye) Ingalls, their daughter, Veronica (Demik), and their son, Liam, Mark (Candy) and their son, Jacob Ingalls; niece, Kimberly Reyhons; and sisters-in-law, PamaLee Ingalls and Deborah (Tholen) Kuker. He was preceded by his stepfather, Howard Aupperle; a brother, Wayne Ingalls, and in-laws, Duane and Gladys Tholen aka "the cookie lady."

Michael Eugene Ingalls was born April 23, 1954, at Iowa City, Iowa.  He was the son of Arthur William and Lucille Evelyn Rogens, Ingalls. Lucille would later marry Howard Aupperle and he had a major influence on Michael's life. Michael graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Kirkwood Community College.  He was employed by Amana Refrigeration/ Whirlpool for 50 years in the tool and die department, retiring in 2024.

Michael met Cynthia at his sister, Pam, and Dave's home. Ending the evening asking can we meet again next weekend? He forgot to ask for Cynthia's phone number. So, his sister got it for him. They married on June 5, 1993, in Anamosa, Iowa.

Michael's friends of many years started and gathered in Davenport, Iowa. Bill and Terri Thinnes have remained remarkably close in the past years, with Bill and Michael discussing Doc Savage books and making many phone calls to each other. Michael was a kind and generous man.

When his mother-in-law, Gladys Tholen, could no longer live alone, he graciously invited her into his home.  He loved his wife, Cynda; his dachshunds, Savannah, and Georgia; going for walks; superheroes; watching movies; and visiting with family and friends.   He grew to appreciate all the flowers that Cynda planted, even learning some of their names.

Michael is dearly missed by all those that love him dearly. Rest in peace sweet Michael, your pain is gone, and our love will live on into eternity. Cynda...
