Midland chapter has strong leadership

Officers in the Midland FFA Chapter participate in a variety of ag-related projects, and many show a desire to continue their ag education after graduation from high school.
The following are profiles of the chapter officers.
Name: Cole Fishwild.
Year in school: Senior.
Office held: President.
Parents: Scott and Sarah Fishwild.
Hometown: Wyoming.
SAE: Beef Entrepreneurship.
Activities: Farm Safety, National Convention, Highway Cleanup, Greenhand Fireup, Greenhand Banquet, FFA Fruit Sales, Great Jones County Fair, Iowa State Fair.
Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: My Beef Entrepreneurship. I have done proficiency the last three years and got third the first year, second last year, and this year I won Beef Entrepreneurship at Districts.
Future Plans: I plan to attend Kirkwood Community College and major in Ag Production with a focus on crops and beef.

SAE: Agricultural Processing (Sydney’s Sweets), cake decorating and baking business.
Activities: Ag Issue and Perceptions, We Care Packages, Highway Cleanup, Sub-district Volleyball, Livestock Judging, Experience the Action, Program of Activities, Ronald McDonald House.
Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: Without a doubt, competing at National Convention in the Ag Issues and Perceptions CDE. Not only was competing a complete honor, I was able to meet countless people along this journey, including Sen. Chuck Grassley and Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey. This experience is definitely something I will remember for the rest of my life, and I am so thankful FFA allowed me to have this opportunity.
Future plans: This fall, I plan to attend Iowa State University to major in Agricultural Communications and minor in Ag Business.

Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: Attending National Convention. It was a great opportunity to experience new things, meet new people and have a fun time.
Future plans: Not yet decided, but I plan to go to a two- or four-year college.

Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: Winning Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Bird at the 2016 Iowa State Fair with my silver-spangled Hamburg pullet.
Future plans: Graduate high school and attend college to major in animal science/ag business.

Most memorable FFA activity or accomplishment: The Washington Leadership Conference; it was so memorable because I met a lot of people and gained a lot of leadership skills.
