Monticello, Delhi residents killed in Saturday crash

Iowa State Patrol said a head-on crash Saturday in Delaware County killed both drivers. 

     Anthony Nile Mentzer, of Monticello, and Bobbi Jo Bauers, of Delhi, were both killed in the crash, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report. 

     The incident took place at 6:15 p.m. on Iowa 38 near 310th Avenue just north of Monticello. The ISP crash report states the 2006 Volkswagen Beetle driven southbound by Bauers crossed the center line and collided head-on with Mentzer, who was driving a 1994 Chevrolet 1500 truck.

     Both motorists were declared deceased on scene, the report states.
