Monticello finishes fourth in WEIGA Tournament

     Monticello shot 584 to take fourth place in the 69th annual Tournament of the Women’s Eastern Iowa Golf Association (WEIGA) Sunday, Aug. 5, hosted by the Wapsipinicon Country Club.

     Three Monticello players – Darby Kramer, Aspen Lynch and Allison Ries – each shot 77 to tie for team medalist honors. Their scores were eight strokes behind the overall medalist, Cassie Caldwell of Wapsi.

     Jeannie Meehan and Deb Byers, both of Wapsi, were inducted into the WEIGA Hall of Fame.

     The WEIGA also awarded two scholarships, to Hannah Houska, representing the Wapsipinicon team, and Kelzi Mather, representing West Liberty.
