Monticello library hosts annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest
The Monticello Public Library is once again seeking entries from the community for its annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
Entries will be accepted Monday, Oct. 9 through Tuesday, Oct. 17. No late entries will be accepted. Then, from Wednesday, Oct. 18 through Wednesday, Oct. 25, stop in the library to vote for your favorite decorated pumpkin.
Winners will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 26. Grand prize winners will receive gift certificates.
Contest Rules:
• This is a family-friendly event; pumpkins in poor taste may not be accepted.
• Do not put your name anywhere on your pumpkin.
• All contestants must fill out an entry form, and their pumpkin will receive a number for voting purposes.
• All pumpkin entries must be picked up from the library by Saturday, Oct. 28, at noon or they will be disposed of.
• Children, adults, families, businesses, and service groups are all welcome to submit an entry.
• No political messages or advertisements on pumpkins.
• Absolutely no carved pumpkins.
• Pumpkins may be painted, colored on with permanent marker, or have items glued to them. Let your creativity soar!
