Lilly Stoll of Monticello was chosen by the Jones County Cattlemen as this year’s recipient of three bred heifers as part of its Heifer Program.

The program is designed to provide young adults the opportunity and assistance to start their own foundation herd in Jones County.

The Cattlemen purchased the heifers from Garry and Ethan Zumbach in December, and they were awarded to Stoll Jan. 10.

It is a multi-year project, and at the end of it, Stoll will return 80 percent of the initial investment back to the Cattlemen.

Stoll, who was chosen from an application process, is the daughter of Matt Stoll and Katie Wernimont.
