SWCD begins accepting tree orders

The Jones Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is currently accepting orders for their tree and shrub seedling sale.
All stock is bare root. There are no restrictions as to who can purchase the trees and where the trees are to be planted – this sale is open to anyone. Deadline to order is March 24. Early ordering is highly encouraged as quantities are limited and the more popular species sell out quickly. Trees will be distributed in late April. All orders must be prepaid.
Available species include Swamp White Oak, Red Oak, Chinkapin Oak, Eastern White Pine, Norway Spruce, White Spruce, European Larch, Techny Arborvitae, Arrowood, American Plum and Service Berry. Sizes range from 10- to 24-inch. These species are sold in bundles of five and prices range from $25 to $45 a bundle. Larger fruit trees are also available.
For a complete list, contact the office. Proceeds from this sale are used to fund outreach and education in Jones County.
Order forms may be requested by emailing sonya.ellison@ia.nacdnet.net or picked up at the Jones SWCD office, 300 Chamber Drive, Anamosa.
